FALLS CHURCH, Va. (Oct. 22, 2026) – From its beginnings as a small HVAC company in 2001 to a multi-million-dollar home services business with more than 80 employees, Worley’s Home Services has built a reputation for operational innovation, workforce development, and high standards of quality. The accomplishments have earned the Yorktown-Virginia-based company the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) 2026 HVAC Contractor of the Year Award. Company owner Chuck Worley accepted the award – sponsored by PHCC Corporate Partner Rheem – recently during PHCC CONNECT 2026 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Worley’s own path into the skilled trades began after he struggled in traditional academic settings and discovered his strengths through hands-on learning at the Newport News Shipyard apprentice school. That experience helped shape his approach to building a company focused on workmanship, professional development, and opportunities in the trades. Following significant personal and business setbacks in 2015, Worley rebuilt the company with his son, Chase. Together, they grew the business from $1.7 million to $3.5 million in 12 months and to $17 million in less than nine years.

Today, Worley’s Home Services provides HVAC, plumbing, electrical, insulation, geothermal, and other home services. The company has developed a management approach designed to support growth while maintaining its culture and standards. Worley’s Home Services uses the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to establish accountability and performance metrics, while its onboarding process emphasizes the company’s mission, vision, brand identity, and “10 Commandments of a TEAM Member.” The company also follows the “Worley Standard” of quality, requiring work to meet its own standards even after passing municipal inspections.

Innovation is another focus of the company’s operations. Worley’s Home Services uses GPS technology throughout its fleet to monitor vehicle locations and driving behavior, track jobsite arrival times, and improve operational efficiency. The company also has invested in systems and support designed to keep technicians focused on their work rather than on logistics. Dedicated warehouse staff and parts runners help ensure technicians have the materials they need without making trips to supply houses, while pre-staged inventory bins and prefabrication partnerships help keep field crews focused on installation.

“Beyond his business success, Chuck is deeply committed to advancing the industry and supporting others within the trades,” says PHCC of Virginia Executive Director Susan Milhoan. He not only actively serves on the chapter’s Board of Directors but regularly speaks to students at the New Horizons Regional Training Center, adult training facilities, and local high schools about opportunities in the skilled trades. He also serves on boards including the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, the Virginia Christian Chamber of Commerce, International Cooperative Ministries, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Worley’s Home Services also extends its industry and community outreach through public education. Worley hosts the weekly “757 House Whisperer” radio program, which has aired more than 100 episodes and gives homeowners access to a team of contractor experts. Through the program, the company helps educate the public about home services while promoting professionalism and trust in the contracting industry. Worley also operates the “Always Be Branding Marketing Mastermind,” an online forum providing actionable strategies to contractors nationwide.
