    As virus infections increased around the world, the PHCC staff began teleworking from home in March 2020. A significant investment in improved cloud technology and infrastructure approved by the PHCC Board of Directors a few years earlier, enabled the staff to operate remotely without any interruption in providing a full range of member services and benefits.

    Michael R. Copp Announces Retirement Plans As PHCC—National Association EVP

    Michael R. Copp, executive vice president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC), has formally announced that he will retire from PHCC in December 2021. “We appreciate the many significant contributions Michael made for the organization over the past six years,” said PHCC President Hunter Botto. “Thanks to his leadership, PHCC made considerable progress in fulfilling important strategic goals and positioning PHCC members as the ‘contractors of choice’ in their markets. The association is now well positioned to achieve sustained growth and further our mission of advancing the industry through education and training to protect public health, safety and the environment.”

    A Thank You to the PHCC Family

    While this was intended to be an article about moving forward after our unimaginable tragedy, this missive is really a thank-you letter to our PHCC brothers and sisters – our PHCC family, who have provided us continued strength and hope. As many of you know, GSM Services lost two well-respected HVAC service technicians, James Lewis and Robert Shook, who were killed during a mass shooting on the afternoon of April 7th in Rock Hill, South Carolina. These were two of our best, and my brother Steven and I, along with the rest of the GSM organization, are strengthened more than ever with all the love, compassion, and outreach from the PHCC family and p-h-c community.

(ACP) members into PHCC.     2020: A Year to Forget?

    The American poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou advised that "we may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated." This extremely challenging year will be remembered for some time despite our collective desire to leave it in the rear view mirror. Yet despite a pandemic, protests, plagues, unemployment, a recession, wildfires, hurricanes, and a presidential election, our Association and our industry continues to demonstrate a resiliency and determination that in a larger sense, defines this great nation. Our PHCC members continue to move forward with hope in their eyes and a bone in their teeth as they protect the health and safety of everyone and our planet.
