With a reputation for professionalism and quality service, and a determination to leave a positive mark on the industry, Danny Reddick received the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association’s (PHCC) 2023 HVAC Contractor of the Year Award. Reddick, president of Reddick & Sons in Manassas, Virginia, was honored Oct. 27 at PHCC’s annual conference – PHCCCONNECT2023 – in Cleveland, Ohio. PHCC Corporate Partner Rheem sponsored the award, which recognizes excellence in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning profession.

Under Reddick’s leadership, his company places a strong emphasis on staff training, ensuring expertise in plumbing, HVAC, gas, and electrical services. It even dedicated a large space in its 10,000-square-foot facility to training, a testament to its commitment to excellence.

“And it doesn’t end there,” as was announced at the PHCC awards ceremony. “At Reddick & Sons, employees are not just workers; they’re valued members of a family. They invest in the personal and professional growth of their team, transforming helpers into skilled apprentices with full educational support.”

The company also employs innovative management techniques as well as time-saving procedures such as bar coding of parts, electronic dispatching of technicians, shop prefabrication, and other methods that increase productivity while increasing customer satisfaction and job quality.

Reddick’s commitment to the industry is further demonstrated through his active participation in PHCC, both locally and at the state level. His journey with PHCC began a decade ago, and he now serves as the Secretary Treasurer of the state chapter. He is committed to the advancing the industry and currently has four apprentices, implementing PHCC’s apprenticeship program through the PHCC Academy.

“He ‘walks the talk,’ providing exceptional service, coaching, and educating apprentices in both HVAC and plumbing and being a genuinely nice guy,” says PHCC of Virginia Executive Director Susan Milhoan.

Beyond business, Reddick & Sons is deeply committed to giving back. The company’s contributions to organizations like Habitat for Humanity and the Prince William Historic Preservation Foundation reflect its dedication to enhancing the public image of the p-h-c industry.

“If Danny Reddick is the future of the trades,” reads his nomination, “we are in good hands.”
