Our Mission
The PHCC Educational Foundation provides innovative educational programming to enhance the growth and success of the plumbing and HVACR industry workforce.
To deliver on our mission, Foundation offers educational programs & training aimed at industry employees at every stage of their career:
- Students considering a career in the plumbing-heating-cooling fields can explore our pre-apprentice program and our workforce development materials.
- Apprentices and Technicians can receive high quality technical training to master their craft, and improve their image with more Foundation training on soft skills, customer service and professionalism.
- Managers and contractor business owners can explore the vast array of videos, articles, live training events, software tools and other information.
Our History
The PHCC Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and was established in December 1986 by PHCC members with the goal of helping their fellow contractors be more successful through education and professional training. These contractors believed and still believe that by helping their friends and their competitors, the whole profession benefits.
The contractors knew that they had to prove their own commitment to the educational cause before asking others to believe in the Foundation. So, each of these contractor founders pledged a minimum of $100,000 to create an endowment fund to fuel program development. With pledges totaling over a million dollars secured, they began seeking additional funding for the Foundation’s educational mission from their fellow contractors and industry manufacturers.
Over the last 35+ years as the Foundation has grown, we have kept true to our mission to enhance the success of the plumbing-heating-cooling industry through education. And to this day, the contractors who serve on Foundation committees and in our leadership positions have made their own financial commitments to support our mission. With their own personal stake invested, our volunteer leaders are 100% focused on making sure we are delivering on our educational mission.
