Like so many associated with PHCC, Darrell Fuller is passionate about meeting needs in his local community. So when wildfires recently destroyed nearly a million acres in his home state – and with communities evacuating just a few miles from where he lives – the PHCC of Oregon executive director stepped in as a Red Cross Disaster Response volunteer. Since late August, he has deployed to two fires in California and two in Oregon.

Fuller works in Evacuation Supply and Procurement (helping to manage two large warehouses in California), Public Affairs and Government Affairs. He also serves on his local Red Cross Board of Directors.

The president-elect of PHCC’s Association Executives Council (AEC) encourages PHCC members to consider volunteering their time. “The Red Cross is always looking for volunteers,” he says. “Whether you want to help locally, or deploy nationally, we can help you help others.” www.redcross.org

In addition, PHCC has activated its Disaster Relief Fund to provide immediate assistance to members in need as a result of the fires. To donate to this fund – or to request assistance – click here.
