Register Today for the 2020 PHCC Legislative Conference

February 26, 2020
By Mark Valentini, Director of Legislative Affairs

Election time is a good reminder of our responsibility to be civically engaged, by educating ourselves about the candidates that seek our precious vote (be it presidential, congressional or even state and local elections) and placing our faith in their leadership through the ballot.

But is there more to civic engagement than voting? There is and PHCC provides our members with that opportunity every year at the PHCC Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C. The First Amendment bestows upon us the right to “petition the government for a redress of grievances.” The Legislative Conference is your opportunity to take civic involvement a step further by going to Congress on behalf of the p-h-c industry to tell them how the laws and regulations coming out of Washington, D.C. impact you and your business.

Join your industry colleagues for two days of grassroots strategy briefings with Washington insiders and the opportunity to make a difference by telling your story to the decision-makers who need to hear it the most.

Issues we will bring up with Congress will include:

  • Protecting the DOL-registered apprenticeship model for building trades
  • Ensuring a permanent extension of energy-efficient tax credits
  • Unfair utility competition
  • Swift passage of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act
  • Increased and sustainable funding for career and technical education programs

SAVE THE DATE FOR TUESDAY, MAY 19, AND WEDNESDAY, MAY 20, to attend the 2020 PHCC Legislative Conference. Register today and encourage your PHCC friends to join you in Washington, D.C.!
