The purpose of the PHCC Corporate Partner program is to provide a way for leaders in the plumbing, heating and cooling community to support PHCC efforts to train and educate the industry. Since signing a corporate partnership agreement between PHCC—National and the International Code Council (ICC) last September, both organizations began coordinating efforts to provide ICC Code training to PHCC contractor-members currently using one or more of the ICodes in their work jurisdictions. Through this collaboration, PHCC members will have increased access to the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and the International Mechanical Code (IMC) or state custom codes based on those documents.

Members also will have greater access to training through online sessions as well as through PHCC state and local associations. This agreement provides those PHCC chapters whose members work under ICC Codes an ideal platform to help contractor members stay up to date with the ICodes as they continue to evolve to address new world issues. The agreement also provides additional support to PHCC state and local chapters who offer education, CE training and code updates within those jurisdictions.

With PHCC’s exit from code development, PHCC’s goal is to use our neutrality to help the industry gain access to the broadest and best training resources, regardless of which code may be adopted in their jurisdiction. PHCC—National’s education arrangements should not be construed as an endorsement of any particular code. The ultimate goal of PHCC—National is to provide access to code training to all PHCC contractors – no matter which code they use – to ensure the continued protection of society and the environment. PHCC—National cannot endorse any code over what is preferred and adopted by the local PHCC’s jurisdiction.

This collaboration seeks to ensure that PHCC members remain the “Best People and Best Practices” within our industry, and more details will be available as education is rolled out.
