You Give, They Receive – Putting Your Gifts to Work!
Bayshore Chapter Gift Helps Vo-Tech Students Tap into Online Apprentice Training
Somerset County Vo-tech High school students using Plumbing 101 online in classThe Foundation received an incredibly generous $53,000 contribution from the Bayshore New Jersey PHCC Chapter. The local chapter was winding down operations, and the members decided to use the balance of the funds in the chapter’s account to support the advancement and development of apprenticeship training programs.

The Foundation worked with PHCC of New Jersey state chapter executive Nicole Urizzo to identify an opportunity to put the donated funds to work. Nicole serves on the Foundation Board of Directors, giving her a unique insight into the opportunities available through the Foundation.

Conversations and planning earlier this year is now putting that gift to work in a high school classroom at the Somerset County Vo-Tech School in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The students are accessing the Foundation’s online apprenticeship training – the same used by PHCC contractor companies across the country to train their employees.

The schoSomerset County Vo-tech High school students using Plumbing 101 online in classol and the students are able to access the online training at no cost. The same program would cost a non-member in New Jersey $2,455 to access. For the students currently in the plumbing program, this represents over $17,000 in services being funded by the Bayshore chapter gift. If this pilot program proves to be a successful model, it could be continued or expanded in 2020.

Our sincere thanks to the Bayshore chapter members and all who contribute to the educational mission of the Foundation!
