It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our good friend, industry colleague and UAC Past Chair Bob Melko.

Melko was the owner of Bishop Plumbing, Heating & Cooling, Des Plaines, Illinois. He passed away Oct. 9, 2018.

“UAC has lost a hard-working and energetic supporter of the industry and a very dear friend,” said UAC Chair Tom Gent.  “Bob was deeply committed to UAC, our profession, his brothers and sisters in the United Association (UA) and our country. He was a mentor to many, inspiring them to strive for excellence in their businesses and in their personal lives.”

Melko was a well-respected instructor for the UA, training both contractors and instructors. In addition to his contributions to UAC, Bob was a former PCA Midwest president and a former Plumbing Council Midwest chair.

Bob, who spent his entire career in the plumbing industry, was born in Chicago and raised in Des Plaines.  He owned and operated Bishop Plumbing, Heating & Cooling since 1976.

Please keep Bob and his family in your prayers.
