By Chuck White, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs
The 116th Congress starts with a different makeup than the 115th now that the Democratic Party controls the House of Representatives. What will this change bring to the world of regulations? It is likely too soon to tell but there does seem to be an uptick in activity so far this year tempered somewhat by the government shut down. As is often said, the House controls the purse strings; there could be financial leverage applied by the House to re-invigorate dormant regulatory actions. As the year progresses, we will see how alliances develop and what changes could arise. PHCC will maintain its presence both with the Congress and the agencies to keep contractor members informed of changes and to also give contractors a voice back to the various departments.
