Power Meeting’s popular pre-event activities will be kicked off by the ever-famous and beneficial Hodes Fundraising function “Challenge Air for Kids and Friends” the evening of Tuesday, March 10. 

Optional pre-event tours and Coaches’ Corner education sessions will also be a very wise use of your time on Wednesday, March 11, prior to the beginning of Power Meeting 2020. QSC Coaches Franc Exley and Les Hanks will be providing Plumbing and HVAC input, ideas and expertise using open discussion and interactive roundtable formats (Commercial Service and Peer Group and Q-List LIVE Style at their best!), to ensure that the most and the best information is exchanged.

Impactful and thought-provoking keynote and break-out sessions will keep you inspired! 

Keynote speaker Connie Podesta will get things rolling the morning of Thursday, March 12 by taking a deep dive into the psychology of hearing, listening and the daily practices that will help Power Meeting attendees increase the effectiveness of their communication skills.  Podesta is a Hall of Fame Keynote Speaker, an award-winning author of seven books, a human resource professional, a 25-year licensed therapist, an actress, a comedienne, a former radio/TV personality, and an expert in the psychology of human behavior as it relates to sales, leadership, change and personal/professional development.

Rounding out the Power Meeting education experience will be additionally information-packed sessions focused on the many layers of marketing, the art and science of strategic leadership and how to hire for success and long-term retention of employees.

QSC Program Director Dave Chic’s working career includes experience in differing but related fields comprised primarily in roles within the association management, hospitality, special event and corporate travel industries. His former affiliations have been with Visit Indy, the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) and the Indiana Apartment Association. Chic is a graduate of the University of Louisville; his BAS degree is in the field of Communications and Public Relations. He has served in various leadership roles for the Indiana Society of Association Executives, the Washington Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Organization, and Meeting Planners International.

Franc S. Exley

Franc joined Quality Service Contractors on July 1, 2019 and serves as the Business Management Coach. Franc comes to QSC from Aire Serv & Mr. Rooter where he worked since 2001 as Franchise Consultant, Sales Trainer and Underground Division Instructor teaching training sessions like: * Managing through your Financials, * Key Indicators within your Business, *Budgeting, *Marketing, *Day to Day Operations, *Underground Sales in Plumbing, *Key Manager Training and Sales Training. Previously, Franc was the owner and operator of a local heating and air conditioning business, with locations in Macon and Savannah, Georgia. Before that, Franc served as Legal Counselor for law firms focusing on class action, insurance and corporate litigation. Franc is a graduate of Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law with a Juris Doctor, Taxation and Business Law. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Georgia.

Les Hanks

Les Hanks joined Quality Service Contractors on June 1, 2013 and serves as the Business Management Coach for a variety of services, such as comprehensive business analysis, strategic planning, competitive analysis, program/seminar development and more. Les is a proud 1988 graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Finance. An expert in building solid relationships with people has led Les to a successful career as a Business Coach and Consultant. He also has prior experience as the Marketing Manager for a major life insurance company as well as leadership positions in the retirement plan administration and petroleum tax consulting industry. Prior to coming to QSC, Les was a Regional Manager/Business Coach for Mr. Rooter Corporation for over 6 years. His travels took him throughout the west coast and the Midwest, and he was honored to have been involved in the growth and success of many franchises. Les was honored as Mr. Rooter Corporation Team Member of the Year in 2011. Being blessed with excellent written and oral communication skills, relationship building skills, creativity, training skills and a knack for teaching financial concepts is the secret of his success. Les takes great pride and joy in helping business owners succeed in life and in business, and has seen many of the current QSC members he works with enjoy growth and expansion. Les is married to his best friend Christine, has 4 wonderful children, and resides in Waco, TX. His passion outside of family and work is all things Aggie sports, especially football. Les published a book in 2015 called C.H.R.I.S.T. The Pillars of Rock Solid Relationships. It is available on Amazon for those interested in a short, but powerful book on the secret of great relationships in life and business.

Michael Hennelly, PH.D.

My forty-four year career consists of more than two decades of military service as well as work in the corporate world and academe. I was recently named an associate professor at the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame and in the fall of 2018 I taught strategic leadership to Notre Dame executive MBA students. From 2007 until I retired in 2014, I was a professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership at the United States Military Academy at West Point. During that time, I taught strategy, management, ethics and leadership to more than six hundred cadets. An overview of my career follows: Military experience: - Led U.S. Army soldiers deployed to NATO - Qualified as an Army Ranger and certified as an Army strategist - Gave weekly strategy briefings to four-star generals for two years - Retired after twenty-one years of active duty as a lieutenant-colonel Corporate experience: - Worked for six years at the headquarters of largest company in the world (responsible for all logistics programs for the Sam’s Club division of Walmart and worked directly with the CEO on his leader development program). Academic experience: - Taught strategic management courses to MBA students at the University of Arkansas and the University of Tulsa. - Taught several different management courses (including strategic management) for seven years at West Point. - Gave presentations on strategic leadership to MBA students from Peking University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (both in the U.S. and China). - Guest speaker at a leadership conference at Yale University. I received my undergraduate degree from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, my master’s degree from the University of Chicago and my doctorate in strategic management from the University of Arkansas. Since my retirement from West Point, I give seminars and consult on strategy and leadership to executives of some of the world’s largest companies. Over the last two years, I have also written case studies and articles on strategy and leadership that have appeared on a variety of websites, including Strategy Bridge, The Best Defense, RealClearDefense and the website of the Thayer Leader Development Group. Finally, I just finished serving for three years on the board of directors of the Global War on Terror Memorial Foundation (a non-profit founded by one of my former cadet students).
