Milton Frank is Contractor of the YearFor Immediate Release: For More Information: ORLANDO, September 8, 2005 – This morning at Walt Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Hotel, Delta Faucet Company and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors – National Association (PHCC) announced the 2005 Plumbing Contractor and Plumbing Apprentice of the Year, two prestigious awards recognizing excellence in the plumbing industry. Milton Frank was named “Contractor of the Year” and Matthew Vaughan was named “Apprentice of the Year.“ The announcement was made at “Network ‘05”, the convention joining the American Supply Association (ASA) and the PHCC annual conventions into one event, bringing plumbers and wholesalers together for the first time. “By recognizing select individuals who have excelled within the plumbing, heating and cooling industries, we hope to drive other professionals to stand out and set an example for those who are already involved within the profession, as well as those who are interested in entering the industry,” said Jon Dartt, vice president of trade sales for Delta Faucet Company. “We are also excited to take an active role in a historic event that combines two important associations, helping to strengthen the industry through networking and building relationships among professionals.” Plumbing Contractor of the Year Milton Frank, president of Milton Frank Plumbing in Spring, Texas, was named “Contractor of the Year”. The Associated Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Texas (APHCC-TX) nominated him for his dedication and service to his profession, company, and community. Milton is also a member of the Quality Service Contactors (QSC) Association and is a strong supporter of the PHCC and the industry, currently serving as the Zone C Director on the APHCC-TX Board of Directors. Over the past two years, he has worked with his local PHCC chapter to form a department of labor accredited apprenticeship program. One PHCC contractor received runners-up honors: David Frame, president of Bob Frame Plumbing and Heating in South Bend, IN. David was nominated for his work ethic, commitment to his community, and his involvement as an active PHCC member at the local, state and national levels. Candidates for “Plumbing Contractor of the Year” are evaluated by a committee of PHCC members using a 100-point system that weighs accomplishments in six areas: Professionalism, Merchandising Skills, Management Skills, Innovative Plumbing Skills, Trade Involvement and Community Service. In honor of being named Plumbing Contractor of the Year, Milton received a check for $5,000 and a crystal sculpture. The runner-up received a cash prize of $1,000 and a trophy. Plumbing Apprentice of the Year Matthew Vaughan of Milton Frank Plumbing in Spring, Texas, was named Plumbing Apprentice of the Year in recognition of his outstanding performance, work ethic and enthusiasm. Matthew started the “QSC Fast Trac” home study plumbing program class implemented by the company in June 2003 and completed the course in February 2005. He has completed over 4,000 hours and awaits his state of Texas testing in August. The PHCC Apprentice and Journeyman Training Committee evaluated dozens of nominations for Plumbing Apprentice of the Year and awarded Matthew a $2,000 scholarship and a check for $500, along with a trophy.
