Nov. 24, 2015
For his significant contributions to the HVACR industry, PHCC Executive Vice President Emeritus Gerry Kennedy received the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration’s (AHRI’s) Public Service Award at its Annual Meeting, held last week in Bonita Springs, Florida.
This prestigious honor – presented by AHRI President and Emerson Climate Technologies EVP Ed Purvis (pictured left) – is given to people not employed by AHRI member companies who have made outstanding contributions to the industry. Kennedy was praised for his influence as a staunch supporter of the HVACR and plumbing industries and of the skilled trades as a career. As announced during the program: “Gerry is a respected advocate for the industry who always works to have a unified industry voice with contractors, distributors, and manufacturers.”
Throughout his career, Kennedy has served on the board of several industry groups, including the North American Technician Excellence (NATE) program; the HVACR Industry Alliance; the HVACR Workforce Development Foundation; and the Partnership for Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration Accreditation.
