and Award Their Highest Honors
St. Simons Island, GA - PHCC National Zone 2 Director Rick Thompson installed the Board of Directors at 123rd PMA Annual Conference on June 11-14, 2015. Held at the beautiful historic King and Prince Beach Resort on St. Simon's Island the following individuals took office for the 2015-2016 term:

The 2015 Contractor of the Year is:
PMA's 2015 Contractor of the Year is being recognized for planning and implementing a program that will impact the future of skilled trades in Georgia. Chip Greene, Greene & Associates, Macon, Georgia is being recognized for his contributions in establishing the PHCC GA Academy for Apprenticeship Training. Chip has been on a mission for 10 years to make this a reality in Georgia. Over the course of the last 16 months he recruited support and resources from the contractor and industry community. In January, the Georgia Department of Labor approved our program and the Academy was born. PHCC GA Plumbing Apprenticeship Year One begins on Monday August 3rd in Macon and Metro Atlanta. In addition to donating his time by serving as Apprenticeship Director, Chip has also donated a warehouse in Macon which will serve as the area training center.
Chip Greene is a 3rd generation plumber who decided to start his own business 25 years ago. He joined PMA In 1995, and within 4 years, decided to follow in his father's footsteps and serve on the state board of directors. Giving back to your professional association was a family tradition and this contractor took that to heart. Over the last 20 years, Chip Greene has served on PMA's Board, held the office of President for two terms, served as PHCC Zone 2 Director and currently holds the position of PHCC President Elect.
The 2015 Industry Member of the Year is:
PMA Awarded Bob Carpenter, Reliance Worldwide Corporation 2015 Industry Member of the Year. Bob holds the position of the SharkTech Academy Manager for the United States.
PMA's 2015 Industry Member of the Year is being recognized for tirelessly giving back to his community and advocating on behalf of the plumbing industry. Bob Carpenter joined PMA in 2012 and immediately got involved by attending PMA conventions and local area meetings. Bob Carpenter has become a key advocate at PMA Local Area Meetings by helping to promote the importance the Plumbing Industry plays in protecting our Health and Safety. He is also a strong advocate of strengthening the licensing laws in Georgia to make sure anyone working on our plumbing systems is licensed by the State of Georgia. In 2014 and 2015, he organized and Chaired the Iron Man Plumbing Competition at the PMA Plumbing Heating Cooling Expos. The competition focuses on the skills required in the Plumbing Industry. The 2015 competition attracted 7 teams from across the Atlanta Metro Area to compete for a prize package of $1,750.
Bob is also being recognized for his charity work with United Craftsmen Children's Shoe Drive, Inc. He founded the Charity in 2010 and incorporated in 2012 in the State of Georgia and went thru the process of becoming a 501 (C)3 Federally recognized non-profit Charity. In 2014 the charity was able to provide 119 children living in Children's Homes or Foster Care in Georgia with the opportunity to come to the Shoe Carnival and pick out their own new pair of shoes, a six pack of socks, and enjoy a lunch with other children who live in similar circumstances. The children also receive a T-shirt listing all of the supporters on the back. Additionally due to his efforts, the charity expanded allowing 67 children in Alabama to participate.
