Senator Inhofe Files PHCC-Supported Lead Paint Amendment
In further action regarding S. 1392, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) has filed a PHCC-supported amendment regarding the expansion of the lead paint rule to commercial and public buildings.
In essence, the amendment would require the Environmental Protection Agency to consult with public and private sector building owners to determine if lead-based paint hazards exist in commercial buildings, conduct a study, and report to Congress on its findings before proposing any new regulations.
PHCC has also signed onto an industry letter to Members of the Senate encouraging their support for the Inhofe amendment. This is significant as PHCC National has maintained that policy/regulations must be developed based on a foundation of sound science and data.
