PHCC Steps Up Green Code Involvement
As technology evolves and water conservation measures become prevalent across the country, PHCC—National Association is becoming increasingly involved in the development of “green” plumbing and HVAC codes.
The most recent example: PHCC Vice President of Technical and Code Services Chuck White, an IAPMO Green Technical Committee member, participated in an April 16 and 17 committee meeting to review sections of the “Green Plumbing & Mechanical Code Supplement” that could be recommended to the Uniform Plumbing Code Technical Committee for adoption into that code. The recommended code items will be considered by the UPC Committee next week in Salt Lake City.
Currently, the National Standard Plumbing Code includes sections of the IAPMO “Green Plumbing & Mechanical Code Supplement” to encourage sustainable construction and conservation methods to its users.
