PHCC Apprentices Help Local Families This Holiday
In true holiday spirit, students in the Philadelphia Suburban PHCC Plumbing Apprenticeship class of 2018 presented Delcroft School Principal Stacey Ray with five gifts each filled with $500 in gift cards to be given to needy families in the school community. A coalition among the apprentices known as "Plumbers with a Purpose" started this annual tradition three years ago as a way to give back to the community; this year, the students raised $2,500 to help local families this season. PHCC of Indiana Wins Award for Workforce Development Project Congratulations to PHCC of Indiana for winning a STAR Award from the Indiana Society of Association Executives (ISAE) for your www.thebestcareer4you.com campaign! The chapter received the Innovative Marketing Award for its effective plumbing workforce development project, developed to reach students, parents and teachers. Accepting the award on behalf of the association was Executive Director Brenda Dant, CAE, and marketing partner, Dave Stevens, Stevens and Stevens.
EPA Asking Commercial Contractors to Participate in Lead-Based Paint Survey

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced that it is sending letters to randomly selected firms asking them to participate in a survey to assess whether renovation, repair and painting activities create lead-based hazards. It is highly likely that plumbing and HVAC contractors who conduct this type of work could be selected to participate in this voluntary survey, which can be conducted online or by phone. READ MORE...

Water Efficiency Study Focused on Five Key States Focused on five states that have recently experienced serious water shortages, a new study will gauge potential water savings from replacing older toilets with high-efficiency models.
