Association Health Plans (AHP)
PHCC supports association health plans (AHPs), which would allow associations like PHCC to offer health care benefits to their members. Through AHPs, PHCC members to pool together to purchase insurance at more cost-effective rates, giving them the same economies of scale, purchasing clout and administrative efficiencies as Fortune 500 companies and union plans. PHCC supports the Small Business Health Fairness Act of 2005, which places oversight of these new health plans in the Department of Labor, the same federal agency that regulates corporate and union health plans. Support legislation that would help bring Fortune 500-style health care benefits to Main Street!
