Plumbing Industry Council Initiatives
The Plumbing Industry Council was formed as part of the efforts to strengthen the United Association-UAC relationship. The council is a coalition of union and national contractor organizations established for improving the overall performance of the organized sector of the industry. The Plumbing Industry Council’s primary objectives are:
- Expand market share for the organized sector of the industry – generate more business for signatory contractors and more work for UA members;
- Support continued membership growth for UAC–actively engage signatory contractors in national trade associations;
- Where appropriate and beneficial, promote local implementation of national agreements and other programs through the UA-UAC partnership.
Dear UA Signatory Contractor:
UNITED WE STAND – That’s what the United Association and the Union-Affiliated Contractors (UAC) of PHCC-National Association have come to live by. We continue to work together on behalf of signatory contractors everywhere to create a unified voice for moving the industry steadily forward. To be successful, we need your support.
The United Association has long been recognized as the industry leader. Whether it is in training, code development, legislation, organizing, safety and health, labor agreements or quality control, our industry works through the United Association.
Teamwork is essential when taking bold steps toward progress. The UA works through the UAC as a conduit to reach out to contractors when developing new programs and agreements. Through the UAC, you and other signatory contractors are able to participate in this partnership to gain control of your local markets. The fact is, in areas where contractors and UA locals work together, we own the market.
The United Association and Union-Affiliated Contractors need your support to continue to build the success we all seek. We respectfully ask that you join UAC and help us develop a better industry. Please contact Jim Witten, UAC executive liaison, to find out how you can participate in the UAC. You can reach the UAC at 502-724-1705 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org. When we stand together, the industry wins.
